Biotic interactions in a changing world
We know that moisture availability directly affects plant performance via physiological water requirements, but we have a poor understanding of how indirect effects of moisture, via interactions with natural enemies and other plant-associated microbes, will affect plant performance under natural conditions. We are conducting field and growing house experiments varying water availability, pathogen pressure and mycorrhizal fungi source to test how altered soil moisture influences the growth and recruitment of multiple tropical tree species. |
